Fall Cleaning Tips |
Fall in the Northwest is upon us once again and that means getting ready for actives indoors for a change. Personally, I enjoy the autumn weather and always look forward to the holidays. But, like anything else, we need some routines to get things done. Here are 5 tips to get you started:
- Furnace Filters - Don't forget to checkout your filters on the furnace. Whether you have disposable or reusable, you need to make sure air con flow freely to reduce energy use. Plus, you want to get rid of all the old dust that has collected on them.
- Outdoor Screen - While it can be a chore taking them off and on, you'll get better life out of them if you store them for the winter. While you taking them off, it gives you a chance to clean them for next year.
- Outdoor Faucet Covers - Yep, the cold freezing temps are coming, so it's a good idea to cover your outdoor faucets so the lines don't freeze. Freezing pipes are never good and can be VERY costly to repair.
- Crawl Space Vent Covers - Also a good idea to help block the cold wind from blowing under your house, which can also freeze unprotected pipes.
- Gutter Cleaning - Yes, what fun, but you know the rainy season is coming, so you need to make sure the water has a place to go. Believe me, it's better to do it now then when it's raining and 35 degrees.
