Summer Cleaning Tips |
Summer in the Northwest is upon us once again and that means it's a great time to do some things inside and outside of your house to take advantage of the warmer and brighter conditions. Here are 5 tips to get you started:
- Carpet Cleaning- Now is the ideal time to have your carpets cleaned. You can have the windows open to get air flow through your house so the carpets dry thoroughly.
- Deck Cleaning - Whether you have a concrete deck or wood, it's a great time of year to get this done. Sunshine will dry the surface fast, so get some deck cleaning solution and a scrub brush and get to work. If you're using a pressure washer on a wood deck, be careful not to get too close to the wood with the nozzle, because it will damage the wood.
- Disinfect Garbage Cans - Some really great bio-degradable soap is best, like Simple Green. It has degreaser agents and is safe for the environment.
- Insect Repellent - Stock up on insect repellent to keep the mosquitoes away. Also, it's a good idea to walk around your house to make sure there is no standing water...it only takes two weeks for mosquitoes to breed.
- Gutter Cleaning - Yes, what fun, but you know the rainy season is coming, so you need to make sure the water has a place to go.
