If you read the title of this blog and know what I’m talking about just now, then you know that a squeege, a tool typically used to clean windows, can be used to wipe off excess water from the glass and walls of your shower. While this sounds like a lot of work, or at best a nuisance, the practice of using a squeegee to wipe down your shower after each use can keep your shower clean, while reducing water spots, and soap scum from building up for longer periods of time.
Reduce Mold & Mildew
Additionally, mold and mildew can also build up in showers that are not cleaned regularly, because over a period of time, the moisture in corners and / or cracks will eventually harbor most and mildew growth. Once these organics start growing, it’s an even more difficult chore to clean the shower. Depending on where you live, there can also be health risks, so it’s important to keep you shower clean.
Save the Environment
Another great thing about using a squeegee in the shower is that you are reducing the amount of heavy detergents used to clean your shower, and thereby reducing the amount of toxic chemicals being dumped into city sewer systems or septic systems that will eventually make it out into the environment. With all that’s happening on this earth these days, we could all benefit by using less chemicals.
For under $20, you can buy a high quality shower squeegee that will last you for years, and with very little effort, reduce the amount of work to clean your shower door and walls.
